| | Your first thought may be to select a lender based solely on how low an interest rate you are quoted in an initial contact. While the interest rate is obviously critical, here are other critical factors: (1) does the lender have a performance history the demonstrates that the loan will be ready to close on the date you promised to close in the purchase contract – this requires having a regular relationship with Flagstaff appraisers and escrow companies, (2) what are the closing costs and (3) are you comfortable personally with your loan officer?
