How long have you been a REALTOR®?

After returning to the States after life adventures in St.Thomas where I managed a Bed and Breakfast, and teaching English as a foreign language in Prague, Czech Republic, I started my real estate career in 2012 here in Flagstaff, to stay in the town I love to call home.

Why did you decide to become a REALTOR®?

I was actually pushed by some mentors of mine to think about a career in real estate. I had talked sports for Kaff Radio during the morning show Tuesdays and Thursdays with Charlie Hicks and then Pinecone Pete, but ultimately real estate drew me in full time.  I think the biggest draw from real estate was the opportunity for me to be able to help clients make the dream of purchasing a home and living here in Flagstaff a reality.

What is your real estate specialty?

I specialize in residential sales with both buyers and sellers, and I am also a full time property manager with over 25 properties I manage here in Flagstaff.  I have helped sell commercial buildings, vacant land, and lease to own purchases for clients.

What do you love most about being a REALTOR®?

The interaction with clients and knowledge that I am here to help the client with one of the most important financial decisions of his/her life, along with the highs and lows that brings.

What do you enjoy when you’re not helping your clients?

What I love most is probably very similar to a lot of other people who call Flagstaff home; the outdoors.  I grew up skiing and enjoying the Arizona Snowbowl during the winters and still do!  I love to hike and backpack all over the Colorado Plateau from trips into Havasupai Falls to Grand Canyon hikes like Thunder River.  I love getting out on a river and experiencing the adrenaline and serenity that is white-water rafting, and I love to golf as well.  The ability we have as Flagstaff locals to only be a 15 minute drive or short walk to the forest, in my opinion, is priceless.

How long have you been a REALTOR®?

After graduating from Northern Arizona University in 2005 I decided to get my real estate license in 2006 as a way to start my own business and live in my hometown. I did have to endure the epic market crash, but the perseverance made me a better agent. It is hard to believe that 13 years have gone by. Time flies when you are having fun!

Why did you decide to become a REALTOR®?

Honestly, a friend of mine was taking the real estate course and I had some free time. I thought, “I will buy a house someday so I could learn something in this class.” I ended up loving everything about it. It was not the career I dreamed about as a kid, but I wouldn’t change it for anything. It allows me to use my business and communication degrees and it is ever changing. It challenges me everyday, and, therefore, offers great rewards.

What is your real estate specialty?

I specialize in residential home sales and love helping both the buying and selling sides. I love helping first-time home buyers, and love it when they are ready to buy their move up homes and continue achieving their dreams. Also, I love when I can help someone sell their home to realize their retirement dreams. Furthermore, helping people who have just moved to Flagstaff gives me the opportunity to show people my hometown and why I love it here.

What do you love most about being a REALTOR®?

It’s simple, the relationships. Buying and selling a home is an intimate process. Getting to know my clients’ wants and needs, and keeping the process as stress free as possible is very important to me. Most of my clients have become friends and I am so honored that my friends and family trust me to help them with their large investments. Recently at a community event I ran into past clients. When introducing me to their friends they said, “The only people that knew we were pregnant were our parents and our REALTOR®.” It is so amazing to play such a big role in peoples’ lives.

What do you enjoy when you are not helping your clients?

I love to work hard so that I can play hard. It is easy to play hard in Flagstaff. I love exploring the outdoors and my favorite transportation method are my feet. Trail running in Flagstaff is, by far, my favorite activity, hands down. Stay tuned for my trail running videos! I also love spending time with my husband and five year old son. As often as we can we travel to anywhere we have the opportunity. At home we hike, enjoy live music and spend time with friends every opportunity we get. Also, a good bottle of red wine and a book always puts a smile on my face.

Monthly Flagstaff Homes Sales Report – December 2018 Flagstaff Homes Sales

December 2018 saw a major decline in homes sales when compared to December one year ago. There were 57 homes sold this past December falling well below the 80 sold in December 2017. While these are interesting numbers, when you look at the number of pending home sales it shows a different market. There are currently 105 pending single family homes. December was definitely a slow month for the Flagstaff market but it appears the activity has picked up for the first part of 2019.

There were 16 condos sold and only 7 townhomes sold in December.

Nationally, home sales in December were down 10.3% from a year ago. See the press release from National Association of REALTORS® Chief Economist Lawrence Yun. Keep an eye out for our Quarterly newsletter where we break down the quarterly sales and also look at the yearly changes in the market since 2005.

Single Family Flagstaff Home Sales -  December 2018

NOTE: ACR = ACTIVE CONTINGENCY REMOVAL, PBK = PENDING TAKING BACKUP. THE DATA REPORTED HERE ARE BASED ON HOME SALES IN THE FLAGSTAFF METRO AREA (THE CITY OF FLAGSTAFF AND IMMEDIATELY SURROUNDING COUNTY AREAS) AS REPORTED IN THE MULTIPLE-LISTING-SERVICE MAINTAINED BY THE NORTHERN ARIZONA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS.® THE DATA MAY NOT REFLECT ALL SALES (BUT IT SURELY REFLECTS MOST OF THEM).

Agent Spotlight: Tad Moore

How long have you been a Realtor®?

I decided to become a licensed Realtor® in 2006. In hindsight, that was right when the market crashed, so it wasn’t the easiest choice of career! Haha! But I wouldn’t change it for the world! I originally worked for a smaller local company, then decided to make the move to RE/MAX Peak Properties in 2013, and then have just joined The Elite Team at RE/MAX Peak Properties, and  I couldn’t be more excited about it!

What made you decide to become a Realtor®?

I actually decided to make the leap to real estate because I really enjoy helping people, and real estate was also a career that allows the flexibility of having a career, but also being able to make time for family life. I was also really drawn to real estate because it directly rewards my strong work ethic. It’s one of those careers where you get out exactly what you put in, so it’s very rewarding to see your hard work lead to great success!

What is your real estate specialty?

I actually pride myself in doing it all! I’ve helped clients buy and sell residential real estate, and have also helped clients with commercial real estate as well!

What do you love most about being a Realtor®?

Really the best part of my job is helping clients with such a major life decision! I like to tell people that buying or selling a house is one of the reasons you call all of your family. Births, deaths, weddings, and a new house are the big life events that you share with all of those closest to you, and it truly is an honor to help advise and guide people through such a major decision! I also really pride myself in trying to keep things light, funny and enjoyable when I’m working with my clients. It can be a very stressful time in your life, and a good laugh can really go a long way!

What do you enjoy when you’re not helping your clients?

Sleep. (Haha.) In all seriousness, I really enjoy spending time with my amazing wife and three awesome kids! I’m also not afraid to let my nerd flag fly, and enjoy collecting vintage Star Wars and Batman memorabilia. It’s a great passion of mine, and over the past few decades has lead me to great events and friendships with folks all over the world! I’m also one of those odd folks that actually enjoys fitness, and can often be found at the gym lifting weights and making horrible grunting noises! I also train in Shaolin Kung Fu, and am currently  a Certified Instructor Trainee at Sacred Mountain Fighting and Healing Arts here in Flagstaff. Other than that, I enjoy a good laugh, a good album, a good movie and a good bourbon!
